A Life well Lived...........
LaChelle Terese Taylor affectionately known by friends
and family as Boodie made her grand entrance into this
world on July 24, 1968 and quietly departed on March
1, 2025. Lachelle was raised in Baltimore Md. and
attended Baltimore City Public Schools, she graduated
from Mergenthaler (Mervo) High School during this
time she also gave birth to her one and only child Asia
Johnson, despite becoming a mother so early she was
never deterred from furthering her education. LaChelle
always had a thirst for knowledge and a desire to
further her skill set she went on to attend a Trade
school earning a Plumbing license. In 2001 Lachelle
moved from Baltimore to Philadelphia, where she met
and fell in love with her, common law, husband/life
partner Larry Drummond. In 2022 Lachelle earned an
Associates Arts degree in Criminal Justice and a
bachelor degree. Before the ink was dry on her previous
degrees she returned to school. Lachelle most recently
finished school to earn her nursing degree, at the time
of her death, she was only one test away from
becoming a Registered Nurse and doing what she
desired which was to help others and bring light and
laughter to other people's lives.
Lachelle was proceeded in death by her
mother Ella Lousies Dargan Jones, stepfather
Phillip Wesley Jones, grandmother
Wilhelmina Witherspoon, aunt Betty Louise
Murray three uncles Ronald(Bojack) Dargan,
Nathaniel (Pete) Dargan, and Ernest (Sonny)
McKnight. Lachelle leaves to mourn her
daughter Asia Johnson, two grandsons
Jayden and Jorden Burgess, sister Dawn
Harkless, brothers Andrew Home and Michael
Taylor Jr. Her love and life partner Larry
Drummond Aunt Roslyn B. Wilson
affectionately known as aunt Rozzie, uncle
Marvin Wilson, nephew Phillip Curry, niece
Kendra Small, her lifelong best friend Valissa
Stanley and we can't forget her beloved fur
babies her chihuahuas Penelope & Camille
and her cat Ariel, and a host of other family
and friends. Although my mother is no longer
physically with us, her smile, laughter, and
hearing her talk about her 4AM phone calls
with her sister Dawn, love of dancing and her
sense of humor will live in our hearts
eternally, she will forever be missed and
never forgotten.
