On Friday, March 20th, 2026, our sweet sister, aunt, and friend, LaNae W. Fisher, closed her kind, loving eyes and peacefully slipped into her eternal rest. Her battle with cancer was long and difficult, but she fought with admirable optimism, courage, dignity, and grace.

LaNae was born on January 15, 1957, in Duchesne, UT, the youngest child of Jack and Kolleen Fisher. LaNae graduated from Murray High School in 1975. LaNae dedicated 37 years of loyal and committed service to Semi-Service. Her work ethic was truly unmatched and something many of us looked up to. She always attributed her work ethic to where she came from. Nae often spoke proudly of her hard-working parents and grandparents. She was a member of The Church of Latter-Day Saints.

LaNae grew up a tomboy, a little rebellious, strong-willed, and adventurous, and she never quite outgrew it—still more comfortable in her Levi’s than anything else—but she carried herself with a kind of strength and inner and outer beauty that did not need to be fancy. She was every bit a beautiful, incredible woman. The family enjoyed listening to the stories of her “rebellious” days and some of the fun adventures she had. LaNae was fiercely independent and stubborn as could be. She always claimed that she got her stubborn nature from the Fishers, and was dang proud of that!

LaNae enjoyed camping, campfire singing and storytelling, tasty food, ice cream, spending time with friends and family, and watching her TV shows, which included Little House on the Prairie and Heartland, among other wholesome shows. Anytime you went to visit her, you could usually find one of these shows playing on the TV.

LaNae never married or had children of her own, but instead she claimed her nieces and nephews as "her kids." Being an aunt was not just a title; it was who she was. She was born to be an aunt and did it better than anyone ever could. She dedicated her life to her family, and family was the most important thing in her life. We can only hope she knew just how treasured and cherished she was. We can picture her magnificent reunion with her parents, nephew Neil, Boomer, and other family members who passed before her. We look forward to the day that we can all be together again.

LaNae leaves behind her sisters, Lisa Johnson and Shauna (Terry) Fieldsted, and her brothers, Ray (Linda) Fisher and Kurt (Shauna) Fisher. LaNae is also survived by her namesake, Rilee LaNae (Brayden) Walker—an honor she held close to her heart—and by numerous cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, as well as great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. While each held an incredibly special place in her heart, she shared a particularly unique and close bond with her nieces, Kayla and Angie. She is further survived by her dear friend of decades and devoted caregiver, Kelly Hudson, whose love, companionship, and support brought her great comfort. The family extends their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Kelly for her dedication to LaNae and the family.

There is much to be said about this incredible woman, and we look forward to sharing more about her.

Services for LaNae will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Premier Funeral Services, 67 E 8000 S, Midvale, UT. Friends may visit from 9:00–10:30 AM, with services to follow. Interment will be at 3:00 PM at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S Redwood Rd, on the north side of the cemetery. There will be a 2–2½ hour break between the end of the service and the interment, so we suggest grabbing lunch before heading to the cemetery.
Following the graveside service, friends and family are welcome to join us at the home of Lisa and Kayla, 2286 Harvest Lane, West Jordan, UT 84084, for light refreshments, an ice cream sundae bar, and a champagne toast (with a non-alcoholic option available).
