Lance R. Malmquist, 67, of Savannah, GA, passed away on July 10, 2025, in Charleston, SC. Born on August 1, 1957, he grew up in Garden City, NY, and lived in Atlanta, GA, Charleston, SC, and Savannah, GA.
Lance was the son of the late Jack and Dorothy Malmquist, of Garden City, NY, and Atlanta, GA. Lance is survived by two daughters, Katherine Malmquist Meacham and Brenna Bowers (Nick), a son, Michael Malmquist (AKA Michael Decker), and six grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Paul J. Malmquist, and sisters Ann Long (James) and Jane Juggassar (Shiva), as well as nine nieces and nephews.
Lance played football at Garden City High School and Nassau Community College. He enlisted in the Army twice and was awarded the Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Parachutist Badge, Expert Badge (Rifle), and other awards.
Lance's ashes are interred at Calverton National Cemetery on Long Island, NY.
