LaNita Rae Roark
September 12, 1951 – February 21, 2026
LaNita Rae Roark, 74, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on February 21, 2026. Born on September 12, 1951, in Wichita, she remained deeply rooted in the community she called home throughout her life.
LaNita built a successful career as a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Plaza Real Estate, where clients often became lifelong friends. While she took pride in her professional accomplishments, it was her heart for service that most defined her life. She volunteered with the Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County and served as a Guardian Angel with the Wichita Family Crisis Center, offering steady support and advocacy to those facing difficult circumstances. That same caring spirit extended to her love of the arts. As an active board member of Friends of the Wichita Art Museum, she helped enrich the cultural fabric of the city she loved.
LaNita’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering loyalty touched countless lives. She loved to travel, delighted in spirited bunco nights with dear friends, and was an enthusiastic and devoted bridge player. She cherished meaningful time with friends and family, but above all, she treasured her role as Nana. Her granddaughters were her greatest joy and the light of her life.
She is survived by her children, Natalie and Kyle; her beloved granddaughters, Avary and Ella; her sister, Sandra Broadstreet; her nieces, Lisa Pharr and Shannon Stone; and her cherished companion, Milo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, LaVerne Roark and Donnetta Roark.
LaNita will be remembered for her generous spirit, steadfast love, and quiet strength. The community she served so faithfully is stronger because of her, and her legacy lives on in the family and friends who were blessed to know and love her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in her honor to the Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with details to be shared by the family.
