Larry Lavon Bentley

Larry Lavon Bentley, born on December 17, 1947 and passed away on February 9, 2026, at the age of 78. Larry was beloved and cherished by all who knew him.

Larry graduated from Columbus High School in 1966 and after attending Columbus College, (now Columbus State University), joined the United States Army Reserve. 82nd Airborne, 1969-1976. He worked in the printing industry. Diversified, Lithochrome, and West Georgia Medical Center, being most memorable. He changed careers later in life and found his passion in Civil Engineering. Working for Gordy Engineering and retiring from Doug Harris Engineering.

Larry was a loving husband, father, Pop Pop, and friend to all. He was an animal loving adventurer, someone who was at home in nature, and a long time member of Bethesda Baptist Church.

He will truly be missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy Bentley, as well as his daughter, Kristen Faith Bentley. Survived by his wife, Deborah Keeble Bentley. Daughter, Andrea Paige Bentley. Grandson, Taylor Brady Sheppard (Ashley) and Granddaughter, Jordan Elizabeth Bentley. Great Grandsons, Bentley Kevin Sheppard and Grayson Brady Sheppard.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026 2:00 PM, at Bethesda Baptist Church. 3830 GA-85 Ellerslie, Ga 31807.
With visitation immediately following.

Flowers will be accepted at Bethesda Baptist Church or donations can be made to American Cancer Society and/or Bethesda Baptist Church Food Bank where he served lovingly.
