Larry Leo Kundinger, 82, passed away on January 26, 2026, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Born on September 22, 1943, in Wisconsin, Larry lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and deep love for his family and community.

Larry pursued higher education with determination and pride. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls, and went on to complete a master's degree at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His passion for learning naturally led him to a lifelong career in education.

For decades, Larry taught at Maple Dale School in Fox Point, Wisconsin. He left an indelible mark on generations of students who remembered him fondly long after they left his classroom. Former students would often greet him warmly when their paths crossed again—testament to the lasting impact he had as an educator and mentor.

Larry was deeply devoted to his family. He is survived by his daughter Stacy (Jodi) and grandsons Caleb, Noah, and Jordan; his son Paul (Whil); and his son Jeff (Sharon) and grandson JC. He also leaves behind his sister Sally (Jim), nephews Jimmy and Jesse; and brother Dale (Lynne), along with nephews Travis and Derek.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Lexy, as well as his parents Lawrence and Geraldine. Larry's care for Lexy during her illness reflected the depth of his compassion and unwavering commitment to those he loved.

A man of many interests, Larry found joy in life's simple pleasures. He cherished time spent with family and friends—especially as a grandfather—and embraced every opportunity to be outdoors. Whether hiking through nature trails or playing pickleball, golf, or basketball, he brought energy and enthusiasm to all he did. Board games were another favorite pastime; he relished the challenge of puzzles—jigsaw or crossword alike—and never missed an evening catching up on the news or cheering for his favorite sports teams.

Larry had a gift for connection. His ability to strike up conversations with strangers often left others wondering if they were old friends reunited. That warmth extended beyond words: he was the neighbor who ran an extension cord across the street during power outages so others wouldn't lose their food; the father who supported his children's choices without hesitation; the grandfather whose silly sounds brought laughter and whose effort was apparent to make most hockey and baseball games; the friend whose smile could light up any room.

He was a gentle soul whose presence made others feel seen and valued. Larry loved deeply—and was deeply loved in return. His absence is felt profoundly by all who knew him.

In lieu of formal services or memorials, Larry can be honored in ways that reflect how he lived: on the pickleball court where he played with joy; at one of his favorite restaurants shared with good company; around card tables filled with laughter; or simply by raising a glass in remembrance.

Papa has left a lasting impression that will be carried forward through stories told, traditions continued, and lives touched by his example. We feel your absence indefinitely. Please watch over us as you always have.

May you rest in peace, Larry Leo Kundinger. Your legacy lives on in every heart you've touched.
