Laura Haines

Laura B Haines (Blum) died on May 8th, 2025 in Rochester, NY after a years long battle against colorectal cancer. She had just celebrated her 52nd birthday. In her last hours her family gathered at her bedside to say goodbye and guide her to a peaceful afterlife.

Laura is survived by her daughters, Jessica and Tiffany, her son in law Brian, her grandchildren Alexander and Eleanor, her siblings Sue, Dale, Wayne, Brenda, Diane and Karen, her nieces Kristara and Theresa.

Laura was a social butterfly, who loved to sing and dance when she was healthy. She was often described as the life of the party. She loved her daughters and grandchildren more than anything. She was a sucker for a good medical or police drama show. She spent much of her life researching sexual abuse and advocating for change in the workplace and schools, and she was very protective of the children around her because of that research.

Though the family is not doing a service, they wish for anyone wanting to do anything in Laura's memory to make a donation to Wilmot Cancer Center or RESTORE Sexual Assault Services in her name so her legacy may live in on future generations.
