Laurie Herro (née Heinecke), 67, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, in Milwaukee. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories for those who knew and loved her.

Born on August 19, 1958, in Milwaukee to Gordon and Carol Heinecke, Laurie was a spirited woman whose warmth, humor, and deep love for her family defined her life. She spent many years working as a bartender, where her outgoing personality and ability to connect with others left a lasting impression. Later in life, she moved to Texas and worked as a machine shop operator before eventually making her home in Arizona and New Mexico. Ultimately, Laurie returned to Milwaukee to be closer to her beloved grandchildren and family, finding great comfort and happiness in their presence.

Laurie embraced the simple joys of life. She loved reading books, drawing, and watching horror films. Above all, she treasured spending time with her family and friends. Her greatest joy came from being with her grandchildren, whom she adored deeply.

Laurie is survived by her son, Danny Herro, and his wife, Jessica Herro; her daughter, Destiny Carter; her brother, Danny Heinecke; her niece, Dawn Clark; her husband (separated), Michael Herro; and her beloved grandchildren, Frank Carter Jr., Connor Herro, and Irelyn Herro. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends who held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Carol Heinecke; her sister, Bonnie Heinecke; and dear friends Dick and Karen Borkowicz, Val Webb, and Sue Miller.

A celebration of Laurie's life will be held at a later date. The family will share details regarding the time and location soon.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the ICU nursing staff at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center for their compassionate care during this difficult time. Their kindness brought peace and comfort to Laurie in her final moments.

Laurie will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering strength, and the love she gave so freely to those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
