Laura Lee Holcomb, 71, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on December 21, 2025. She was born on December 3, 1954, in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she spent her early years before building a life centered on compassion, learning, and family.
Laura graduated from Central-Courter Tech High School and went on to earn her bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati. Driven by a deep passion for helping others, she later completed her master's degree in social work at Barry University. Her commitment to service shaped every chapter of her life. Laura was the kind of person who would go without so someone else could have what they needed. Her generosity was quiet, steady, and unwavering.
She cherished the friendships she rekindled with her high school classmates, holding those connections close to her heart. Laura found joy in the simple beauty of nature—especially birds and flowers—and she nurtured a lifelong love of learning. Her notebooks, filled with careful research and handwritten reflections, are a testament to her curious mind. And in true Laura fashion, she never passed up a Christmas store or a good banana split.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Holcomb, Jr. and Barbara Walls, as well as her siblings Susan Duckett and Edward Walls.
She is survived by her children, Hope (Kris) Dunn and Benjamin (Heather) Parker, her grandchildren who were the center of her world: Andrew, Timothy, and Peter, and her siblings Valarie Weeks, Michael Holcomb, Jeff Holcomb, and Terry Walls. Her love for them was boundless, and her presence will be felt in their lives forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 17, 2026, from 1:00-3:00 PM at the Spring Grove Community Room, 4452 Winton Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor Laura's remarkable life.
Her legacy of kindness, curiosity, and selfless love lives on in all who knew her.
