Laurie (Lauren) L. Burton

Laurie treasured his goldens and a pair of cats over the years; his relationships with friends, neighbors, their children & pets, social and business contacts, skiing, Rock N' Roll & the outdoors. A native of Rogers Park, Chicago, he earned a B. A. Degree in Design from the U. of I., Chicago and belonged to the A. E. Pi Fraternity. Using his natural ability to make meaningful connections, Laurie built a successful 40 yr. career as an outside salesman of building materials covering Greater Chicagoland. A longtime member of Snowhawks Ski & Social Club he excitedly took many trips to the mountains of Colorado, Canada, Idaho, Utah & California. His love of the outdoors was visible in the flowers and vegetable garden he planted every spring and the countless days and hours he spent in the yard enjoying the company of his pups with neighbors, friends & their dogs. He adored raising, training & especially socializing his 5 Golden Retrievers sharing them with most anyone he encountered. Laurie passed away peacefully at home in the presence of his adoring spouse with love and grace. He is survived by his wife, Laurie Gresham, Sister Wendy (Michael) Hopf and Nephews (Scott, Isaac). The family requests patience and consideration while planning a Celebration of Laurie's life in warmer months.
