Laurie (Volz) Mosier, age 71, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25th, 2025 at her home in Scottsdale, Arizona after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends. Laurie was born to Charles & Laura Volz on August 2nd, 1954 in Mitchell, South Dakota. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Mosier, sister Charlene (Volz) Weidenaar, and brothers Jim (Ann) Volz, Rick (Dee) Volz, and Larry (Nora) Volz, plus many loving nieces and nephews. Laurie was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Ronald Volz, Sister Gayle Volz, Mary Lynn (Volz) Geidel, Jean (Volz) Mohr, and Joyce (Volz) Hartington.

Laurie attended Notre Dame Catholic High School and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1972. After graduating, Laurie moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she attended Park College, UMKC, and later worked and attended Electronics Institute where she graduated from a two-year program in Computer Technology. Laurie went on to work for ITT as a Field Engineer providing hardware and software support to businesses. She was one of the first women working for ITT in field service at the time. She earned several awards and recognition for her accomplishments.

Laurie met her husband Jerry in Kansas City in October, 1981 and was later married in June, 1982. They were together for 44 wonderful years. Shortly after being married, they moved to Denver, Colorado where Laurie continued to work for ITT. In 1991 they relocated to Winter Park, Colorado where they owned their own business and Laurie began a new career in real estate and property management. In 2000, they moved back to Denver where Laurie continued her real estate career and obtained her Colorado Real Estate and Real Property Administrator licenses. In 2011, Laurie and Jerry relocated and eventually retired in Scottsdale, Arizona. Laurie’s career in real-estate spanned more than 30 years.

Laurie loved life, her family, and her friends tremendously. She enjoyed staying in contact with many of her high school and college friends over the years. She always had a beautiful smile and joyful laugh and was the most caring, compassionate, loving, and courageous person you could ever meet. Laurie enjoyed the outdoors, skiing, snowmobiling, hiking in the mountains and desert, the ocean, sailing, music, traveling, and especially her two dogs, Max and Sadie. She will always be loved, never forgotten, and extremely missed by everyone she knew.

A celebration of life has yet to be planned. She asked that any donations be made to Mayo Clinic Cancer Research or to your local animal rescue shelter in her name. May Laurie rest in peace and may God bless her soul.

"When I go, don't learn to live without me, just learn to live with my love, in a different way. And if you need to see me, close your eyes, or look in your shadow when the sun shines, I'm there. Sit with me in the quiet and you will know that I did not leave. There is no leaving when a soul is blended with another. When I go, don't learn to live without me, just learn to look for me in the moments. I will be there." ~ Donna Ashworth
