Lawrence Raymond Arledge, Jr., age 91, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, in Lecanto, Florida. Born on November 17, 1934, in Lancaster, Ohio, Ray lived a full and vibrant life marked by dedication to his family, a strong work ethic, and a passion for building and creating.

Ray was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Sherrill Arledge. Together they built a life centered around love and family. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one son Jeffrey Huff, a granddaughter Mindy Huff, a grandson Kiel Huff, and a son-in-law Peter Brown.

He is survived by five children: Marcia Jenkins (Mike), Sherry Baker, Michael Huff (Barbara), Julie Brown, and James Huff. His legacy continues through his 23 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren—each one a testament to the deep roots of love and guidance he provided throughout his life.

Ray had a lifelong passion for construction. He owned and operated his own construction company for many years—a career that reflected both his skill and determination. Even after retiring from the business world, Ray continued to build with care and craftsmanship, creating furniture pieces for family members that will be treasured for generations.

Outside of work, Ray found joy in many hobbies. He loved boating and fishing on Florida's waters and spent countless hours bowling with friends. He was an avid sports fan who cheered enthusiastically for the Tampa Bay Rays and Buccaneers. Ray also enjoyed traveling on cruises with loved ones and gathering around backyard bonfires with family—moments filled with laughter and warmth that will be fondly remembered.

A proud member of the Eagles Club in Inverness, Ray valued community connections as much as he did family ties. Those who knew him remember him as a loving and giving man—respected not only for his talents but also for his kindness and unwavering devotion to those he held dear.

Ray's presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. May his memory bring comfort to those who carry forward the values he lived by: love of family, pride in hard work, and joy in life's simple pleasures.
