Lawrence Douglas Carroll, Sr.
1948 - 2025
Lawrence D. Carroll, Sr. age 77, of Redondo Beach, California formerly of Lowell, Massachusetts passed away due to complications from Parkinson's Disease on December 20, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. He was the beloved husband of Donna Markham Carroll with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.
Larry was born on December 4, 1948, in Nashua, NH. The son of Douglas and Lillian Carroll. He graduated from Nashua High School and Concord Community College.
A proud Veteran, Larry served his country in the US Army while stationed in Germany. Larry went on to spend 36 years with the US Postal Service, receiving numerous commendations for his dedication and commitment. He retired as Station Master of the Shawsheen Village Post Office, Andover, Massachusetts.
Larry and Donna raised their three children in the Belvidere section of Lowell and upon retirement relocated to Southern California. He will be remembered as a calm, good-natured, loving patriarch. He cherished the time he spent by the ocean and being surrounded by his family, especially his Grandchildren, who could often be found sharing special moments with their Grandfather, whom they lovingly called "Beep", "Grand-Daddy" and "Lolo."
Larry is survived by his wife, Donna, as well as his children and their spouses - Larry Carroll Jr. (Carrie); Sean T. Carroll (Bless) and Elizabeth Carroll Gustavson (Brian), all of Southern California. His grandchildren Jack, Dashiell, Emma and Daniel Carroll, Seana Carroll, Abigail, Clara and Ryan Gustavson. Larry was predeceased by his granddaughter Savannah Carroll. He will be greatly missed by his three sisters, Linda Carroll of Nashua, NH, Mary Carroll Banks of Nashua, NH and Cindy Carroll Dillavou (David) of Hudson, NH, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Larry's funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 6 at St. James Catholic Church of Redondo Beach, CA.
