Lawrence John Doucette, age 77, of Brooksville, Florida, passed away after a long illness on April 3, 2026.

Born August 11, 1948, in Brattleboro, Vermont, Lawrence, known to many as "Lee" , lived a life marked by dedication to his work, his community, and his family. He built a distinguished career in retail management, serving as a general manager for The Woolworth Corporation in Vermont, Long Island, New York, and Boston, Massachusetts. Following his time with Woolworth, he completed his retail career with Granite Stores in Hingham Massachusetts and Edgartown Martha's Vineyard.

During his years on Long Island, Lee was deeply involved in his community. He served as President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Moriches and Treasurer of the Lions Club. His commitment to helping others was evident through his volunteer work, including organizing boating outings for handicapped children, an effort that brought joy to many families.

Lee was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, boating and golfing. He was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and rarely missed a chance to follow his favorite team. He also had a passion for travel, with Paris, France holding a special place in his heart as his favorite destination. He had a great love of history and space travel.

He is survived by his former spouse, Jane Doucette; his three children, Lynn Doucette and her husband Steve Kelley, Timothy Doucette and his partner Denise Dumais, and Jessica Doucette and her partner Craig Donaruma.

Lee was a proud grandfather to Danielle and Shelby and a great-grandfather to Riley, Emmett and Wyatt.

He is also survived by his brothers, Mike Doucette and his wife Karen, and Eric Carlton and his wife Kathy, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, John "Newt" and Anita Doucette, and his siblings, Timothy Doucette and Deborah Ellis.

Lee will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generous spirit, and deep love for his family and community. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
