Lawrence "Buzz" Richardson, 92, of Sunnyvale, CA, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026.
Born on March 12, 1933, in Duxbury, MA, Buzz graduated from Rockland High School in 1951. A proud veteran, Buzz served in the United States Air Force before earning a B.S. Degree in Education from Bridgewater State College, a Master's Degree in Education from Boston College, and Certification as a School Psychologist.
Buzz dedicated his life to teaching and serving as an administrator at Rockland High School, Martha's Vineyard Regional High School, and the Bridgewater public school system. His compassion and patience left a lasting impression on countless students and families.
After retiring from education, Buzz moved with his wife, June, to Southern California, where he embarked on a second career as a Food & Beverage Manager at the Bicycle Club Casino.
Buzz will be remembered for his easy smile, outgoing nature, ability to connect with everyone, and exceptional skill at repairing automobiles, fixing broken appliances, and completing household construction projects. He loved his family and traveling and enjoyed rooting for the Bruins, Patriots and Red Sox and sitting on his patio and chatting with neighbors and friends who stopped by to visit. There were many who enjoyed his lively sense of humor and conversation.
Buzz is survived by his wife June, children Michael, Tracie, Susan, and Larry Jr., his sister Laura, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
The family will have a celebration of life this summer and his ashes will be scattered at sea in Duxbury, where his spirit will rest forever.
