Ledora Williams was born on November 3, 1957, to the union of Stance and Rosia (Torry) Williams. She peacefully transitioned on February 14, 2026.
At the tender age of five, Ledora experienced the loss of her mother. From that time forward, she was raised by her devoted grandmother, Mary Ella Torry Patton, and her father, Stance Williams. Through their strength, guidance, and love, they helped shape the resilient and compassionate woman she would become.
Ledora confessed Christ at an early age while growing up at New Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. She later continued her faith journey in Chicago, Illinois, where she became a member of the Power Circle of Congregation Inc.
Affectionately known as "Lee," Ledora was educated in the Gary School System and was a proud resident of Gary, Indiana. She was employed at UPS and later dedicated herself to serving others through her work in home health care with Companion Care and the Mary Lane Center until her retirement.
Lee had a true servant's heart. She found joy in cleaning, cooking and faithfully prepared weekly meals for the staff and friends at the Gary Manor Apartments, where she resided. From her ninth-floor apartment, she cherished the beautiful morning views overlooking the City of Gary and what a simple pleasure.
Ledora never met a stranger. She would give her last to anyone in need and was always ready to help wherever she could. Her generosity and welcoming spirit touched countless lives.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Stance and Rosia Williams; her two sons, Kishwaa G.Q. Williams and Dennis R. Williams; her two precious babies who passed in infancy, Jacqueline Nicole Williams and Raymond Terrell Williams; five brothers, Robert Williams, Thomas Williams, Bradley Williams, Jackie Williams, and Odell Williams; and one sister, Elder Loretta (Sam) Mitchell.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory two loving, devoted daughters: Tanya (Larry) Biggers of Quepos, Costa Rica, and Delta (Jermel) Kindred of Indianapolis, IN; six beloved grandchildren: Ashanti Gray (Nashville, TN), Larry C. Biggers, Jr. (Chicago, IL)., Armani Biggers (Dallas, TX), Junie Kindred, Mellie Kindred, and Ace Kindred (all of Indianapolis, IN), Larry C. Biggers III (Chicago, IL); three sisters, Servant Vera Johnson, Rosemary (Colonise) Williams of Gary, Indiana, and Elvertice (Randy) Dunbar of Greensboro, North Carolina; special cousins, Shirley Slay and Geraldine Stamps; Special friends, Angie and Carolyn; Rochelle Mosley, Samantha Davis, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, carried forward in the lessons she taught and the love she so freely gave. Though she has gone home to rest, the imprint of her spirit remains, steady, gentle, and everlasting.
