Born December 6, 1945 in Washington, DC to LT David A. Powers Jr. and Dorothy Dean (Taylor), loving sister to David A Powers, Ill of Nickas & Powers Esq.
Lee made Surrywood in Chesterfield, County her home. She was employed with VDOT, the Virginia State Police for 20 years. She attended Wichita Falls High and graduated from James Blair High School in 1964). She studied at VCU and William and Mary College earning her degree.Lee enjoyed art, music, interior design and traveled the world enjoying the finer things in life.
To her many friends and family Lee was considered a socialite who enjoyed hosting gatherings, singing and playing her guitar at popular night clubs in Richmond, VA. A gracious woman, she loved her many pets over the years including exotic birds her last pet being her beloved poodle. "Beauchant". She enjoyed and treasured very much the friendship she shared with Angie Fenner (Adams) for over 30 years always, Lee was always ready for the next adventure that included her and sometimes her brother "David" to join in singing and sharing her love of entertaining with others. Lee never met a stranger including opening her home in their time of need.
Lee on her father's side of the family descendants from Mordecai Cooke, a survivor o Jamestown 1622 event. Lee's remains will be interred in the family plot located at the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Williamsburg, VA.
Her love for animals, Lee would appreciate contributions made in her name to any animal rescue.
A celebration of her life will be planned at a later date.
