Leonard J. "Len" Konecny, 82, of Southbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, in Southbury.
Born on March 26, 1943, and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Len was the beloved son of Frank and Doris Konecny. His early years were shaped by the importance of family and the values that would guide him throughout his life. A proud graduate of Quinnipiac University, class of 1966, Len embarked on a path that would take him across continents and into the heart of international business. As Director of Sales and Marketing for Gabrian International (H.K.) Limited, he cultivated lasting partnerships around the globe and earned deep respect for his unwavering professionalism and integrity.
Southbury became home to Len—a place where he planted roots that ran deep. His faith was a guiding light; as a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southbury, he served as a lector and took part in the men's group with quiet dedication. Within those sacred walls and among fellow parishioners, Len found both purpose and peace.
Len had a passion for sports as he cheered wholeheartedly for the Boston Red Sox and Green Bay Packers—teams that he followed faithfully over the years. His culinary favorites told their own story: Pepe's Pizza, lobster rolls, and Lucibello's ricotta pies all enjoyed during meals with family and friends. These simple pleasures wove together moments that became cherished memories.
Len shared 54 beautiful years with his loving wife Linda—their bond a testament to enduring love and commitment. Together they raised four children: Leah; David (Heather); Mark (Lissy); and Emily (Hector), each carrying forward pieces of his strength and kindness. His grandchildren—Aiden, Ethan, and Mia—were lights in his later years, bringing joy to every visit.
He also leaves behind his brother Frank (Anne) of Connecticut; sister Carol Guay of Florida; brothers-in-law George Garber of New York and Dennis Garber (Jerri) of Connecticut; sisters-in-law Elena Cantavero of Connecticut and Connie Whitcraft (John) of California; along with many loving nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
A Funeral Service will be held on January 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church - Southbury, located at 910 Main Street South. A gathering will follow in the church hall to honor Len's memory.
Though Leonard J. Konecny has departed this world, his legacy endures—in every life he touched with grace, every friendship forged through trust, every moment made brighter by his presence. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
