Lester L. Railine, age 63, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on September 7, 1962, to Barbara and Gene Railine. Les was known for his devotion, love, edginess, and creativity. He will always be remembered for his artistic spirit and his ability to bring imagination and originality into everything he did.
Les was truly a jack of all trades—a talented writer, artist, sculptor, singer, and dancer. He had a passion for creating, building, and expressing himself, and he inspired those around him to do the same.
Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, working on different projects, tinkering with his motorcycles, carving knives, and making whiskey. He found joy in staying busy, using his hands, and sharing his skills with the people he loved.
He is survived by his life partner, Dawn Oliver; his three sisters, Cindy, Laura, and Barbara; and his children, Jessica, Samantha, Cory, Bianca, Shaman, Sarah, Jessabelle, Shania, Harrison, Emilee, Laura, Brayden, and Charlee. He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren: Nicholas, Patrick Jr., Arianna, Marissa, Miles, Micah, Shaylynn, Ezra, Azinnia, Lucas, Oaklyn; and his extended family, who will miss him deeply.
Les will be remembered for his strong spirit, his creativity, his humor, and the love he had for his family. His memory will live on in the stories he told, the things he built, and the people whose lives he touched.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 15, at 140 VFW Rd, Albany, NY 12205, from 11 AM to 2 PM.
