Lester Leon Walker

"Through much tribulation we enter the kingdom of God" Acts 14:22. Lester Leon Walker, 84, beloved husband and father, died peacefully at home on Nov 22,2025. Les was born, 1941, in Odessa, NY. He grew up in Indianapolis, IN where he graduated from Butler University in 1964. While at Butler, he was very active in chess club, ROTC and served as president of Young Republicans.

After graduation, Les went directly into the Air Force and trained within the Strategic Air Command as a missile officer. He served as commander of Titan 2 and Minuteman missiles in Arizona and Montana. In 1980, Les was assigned to the readiness division at Air University in Montgomery, Al. While in Montgomery, he married his wife of 41 years, Denise, also an Air Force officer. After retiring from the Air Force in 1985, they returned to Tucson, AZ where he lived the remainder of his life.

Les was an avid fisherman and especially loved the cutthroat trout in Yellowstone Lake where they spent many wonderful times. They loved to travel, visiting beautiful cities and wide-open spaces in the U.S. and Europe.

In Tucson, Les became a real estate broker and ran his own company. Throughout his lifetime he continued his passion for politics.

Les loved the Lord and was active in his churches. Les and Denise started attending church together before marriage and never stopped. A devout Christian, he knew this earth was only a temporary home. He is home now with God.

Les is survived by his wife Denise, his daughter Andrea(Mark) Harris, two grandsons, Leo Harris and Ian Wiedner, and niece Cindy Ritter. He was predeceased by his son Matthew.

Sincere thanks to all the people who prayed for us and helped us-friends and neighbors, especially during the last few difficult years. One day we will be together in Heaven.
