It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lillian "Lil" McGregor, 70, of Austin, TX, on November 15th, 2025. She was born January 7, 1955, in Austin.
Lil was naturally creative and enjoyed oil pastel painting, stained glass art, and creative writing. She even wrote a piece featured in her multiple sclerosis doctor's newsletter about enjoying the simple things in life, inspired by watching her then 2-year-old grandson enjoying graham crackers and milk. She was an excellent cook and could make a mean pot of seafood gumbo. She enjoyed going out to eat and frequented restaurants such as Waterloo Ice House, Quality Seafood, Suzi's, and El Mercado.
Lil was an animal lover and always had pets, most recently Tula, Milly, Ricky, and Patches. She had a unique collection of salt and pepper shakers ranging from antiques to fun, funky pieces.
She had a knack for thoughtful and original gift giving, like surprising her granddaughter with a bow and arrow that became the highlight of that Christmas.
Lil enjoyed being outdoors and going to the beach, finding peace in the sound of waves.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Jane Williamson and brother-in-law John Williamson (Johnny). She shared many wonderful years with her former husband and father of her children, Donald McGregor, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by children Molly and Ryan McGregor, grandchildren Jordan and Addison McGregor, and nephews James and Eric Williamson.
We will miss her infectious laugh, silly jokes, and her wise words of wisdom.
