Linda Naomi Budd (née Sonnenfeld) of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, after a courageous struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Born in New York City on October 19, 1943, Linda (Hebrew name: Naomi bat Alexander v’ Devorah) carried a deep pride in her German-Jewish heritage and a lifelong devotion to family, faith, and community.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Arthur Budd; her children, Jeffrey Budd and his wife, Carrie, of Johns Creek, Georgia, and Caryn Budd-West and her husband, Ron West, of Lincoln, New Hampshire; and her cherished grandchildren, Amanda Budd and her fiancé, Tim Springsteen, of Atlanta, Georgia, Julie Budd of Brookhaven, Georgia, and Korey Myers of Milford, Massachusetts.

Linda married the love of her life, Arthur, on June 21, 1964, in White Meadow Lake, New Jersey. Married for 61 years, together they built a beautiful family, took great pride in their children and grandchildren, and traveled the world side by side.

A devoted member of Hadassah, Linda belonged to the Randolph-Holbrook, Massachusetts chapter and later the Boynton Beach chapter, where she served as secretary. Her commitment to Jewish life and community service remained a meaningful part of her life.

Linda found her calling as the Preschool Director of Temple Beth Avodah Preschool in Newton, Massachusetts. She loved teaching pre-school and nurturing young children, leaving a lasting impact on generations of families.

Nothing brought her greater joy than being “Mutti.” She beamed at every milestone and treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren.

Linda was a loyal friend whose relationships spanned decades. She delighted in gathering with friends for Mah Jong and Canasta, where laughter was always part of the game.

Deeply connected to her German-Jewish roots, she loved sharing humorous German sayings and children’s songs, especially “Hoppe Hoppe Reiter” (“Hop Hop Goes the Rider”) and “Ich habe schon mehr gelacht” (“I’ve already laughed more”), phrases that reflected her playful spirit.

Linda loved spending time with her family and friends, going to the theater, listening to music – particularly Broadway hits, reading, traveling and entertaining. A gifted cook and gracious hostess, she expressed love through her kitchen. Friends and family always looked forward to her legendary beer meatballs, matzah ball soup and beloved babka.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton, Massachusetts. With interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, Massachusetts.

Shiva will be observed in Franklin, Massachusetts, and Johns Creek, Georgia.
Linda’s memory will forever be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
