Linda Rae (Farley) Gardner
Born November 3, 1951, to LaVerne (Bob) and Betty (Jean) (Herroon) Farley, in Battle Creek, MI, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025, after a three year long battle with lung cancer. She was raised in Bellevue on the Farley family farm and graduated in 1969 from Bellevue High School. She was married in 1970 to Michael Nickson and they had a daughter, Michelle. Later they divorced and Linda later married Robert Gardner, and they had a son, Bobby.
Linda lived most of her life in Bellevue, Battle Creek, Nashville, and Olivet areas, except for a few years where she resided in Georgetown, KY. She worked mostly in area factories and various restaurants, with many years at the Village Bar in Bellevue.
"Living life on her own terms" probably best describes Linda. She enjoyed the simple things: bon fires, a lake, the stars, and a road trip. She was always one to look for morel mushrooms and asparagus, and was known to hunt deer in her younger years. Linda also loved animals and was an awesome pet sitter.
We will miss the laughter and the "glare" if we said something she didn't agree with . . . iykyk. Linda left us many good memories and that's how we will remember her.
She leaves behind a daughter, Michelle (Nickson) Headley, of Petoskey, MI, a son and his wife, Bobby (Adria) Gardner, of Bellevue, MI, grandchildren, Lauren (Stephen), Aryn, Emery, Sophia, Isabella, and Asher; great-grandchildren, Braedon, Azrael, Jackson, and Reagan; sister, Nancy (finance Gary) Farley, of Battle Creek, MI, brother, Ken Farley, of Lake City, MI, and sister-in-law, Brenda Farley of Athens, MI. Also many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends survive her.
Her parents, Bob and Jean; brothers, Phillip, and Paul Farley: nephew, Scott Farley; former husband Robert Garnder, a sister-in-law, Sandi Farley, and son-in-law, Cecil Headley, pre-deceased her.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place in late spring/early summer; details will be shared. The family would also like to sincerely thank everyone at Hospice of Lansing, Stoneleigh Hospice House, for the wonderful care they provided to Linda in her last few months there.
