Linda Stevens Hamilton, 80, a longtime and proud resident of Brookline, Massachusetts, peacefully passed away on January 10, 2026, in Milton, Massachusetts, surrounded by family and friends.

Born on September 25, 1945, in Boston, Massachusetts, Linda grew up with a deep appreciation for community and connection—values that would guide her throughout her life. Her roots in the Boston area remained strong as she built a life that centered around love, loyalty, and compassion.

Linda was known for her fierce loyalty, courage, conscientiousness, fiery and genuine spirit, warm heart, and sharp wit. She was both compassionate and a firecracker—kind and spunky in equal measure. Her presence lit up every room she entered; her words could comfort or challenge with equal power. Those who knew her will remember not only her strength but also the way she made them feel seen and valued.

Above all else, Linda valued her relationships. She strongly believed that friends and family were life's greatest treasures—and she lived by this belief every day. She always willingly gave her time to those she loved and those in need. Whether through a heartfelt conversation or a perfectly timed zinger that brought laughter and wisdom, Linda had an unmatched talent for uplifting and connecting with others.

Among the many people she loved and who loved her dearly, Linda leaves behind her daughter, Kristen Hamilton; her son, Todd Hamilton; her sisters, Sandra Maloney and Phyllis O'Leary; and her two lifelong best friends, Marena Morrison and Dianne Hamilton. Their lives—and the lives of countless others—were enriched by Linda's unwavering support and vibrant spirit.

Though our grief may never fully subside, we take comfort in knowing that Linda would want us to carry forward and support each other with heart and purpose. In moments of sorrow or doubt, we will remember her advice: "not to try to be happy, but to try to find contentment." It is in these pursuits that we will honor her memory.

A private family interment will take place in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (www.lbda.org) or ASPCA (www.aspca.org).

We invite everyone who knew Linda to share their memories and reflections in our digital guest book—a space where stories can keep bringing us together, just as she did so often in life.

May Linda's memory bring comfort, joy, and inspiration to everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
