Linda Hamilton, 78, of Glendale, AZ passed away March 6, 2026 surrounded by her family after a brave battle with cancer.
Born in New York, Linda grew up in Monroe, Connecticut where she met her lifelong friend Martha. She attended college at Colorado University where she received her nursing degree and served in a Denver area hospital. She met her husband, James Hamilton, Jr., and they married in August 1981. The family moved to Glendale, AZ in 1983. Linda was a full-time mother until she became a private fiduciary in the early 1990s which was the entry point to touching countless lives through her generous and caring spirit.
Linda was an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast, and, like her mother, enjoyed the arts which was reflected in the way she decorated her home. She loved spending time with family and hitting up the slot machines with her friends for fun. She was an extremely positive individual and enhanced the lives of countless people through charity. Linda adored her children and, by extension, many of her children’s close friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Virginia and Peter Cherry. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, James Hamilton, Jr., children Nelson, James III, and Sarah, sisters Julie and Jayne, and too many friends to count. The family is grateful for the support of Linda’s close friend, colleague and care manager Shannon, and additional caregivers.
