Linda Marshall started life as Linda Desiree Newman, the first precious daughter of Patricia and Joe Newman. Linda was Born in Eugene Oregon on May 30th 1955, and spent the first 7 years of her life growing up on the road with her musician parents. When she was 4 years old, her baby sister Debbie was born, and 4 years after that her baby brother David was born. The Newman's settled in Reno in 1962. They were a very happy little family, and she had an idyllic childhood growing up in a wonderful neighborhood with lots of families and many neighborhood friends. Lindy was also infatuated with horses, and it was common to see horses around town back in those days. Reno was a much more rural town back then, and it was a much simpler time.

As she started getting into her teen years, she started exploring her wild side as every teenager does. Lindy was always extremely independent and walked her own path. She was also very strong, loving, compassionate, nurturing, and supportive. She explored the world on her own terms. Around 1971 she started working at the keystone cue and cushion, where she loved to hang out, and that is where she fostered her love for pool. Lindy was a very spunky young lady and very funny, a real joker. She really knew how to have fun. She always made everyone around her feel very special and appreciated. If you knew her, how could you ever forget that laugh. I'm sure you can hear it now, just at the mention of it, and I'm sure you're smiling at the thought of it. Eventually Linda moved on to work at The Reno Gazette Journal, as an ad writer, where she stayed for many years.

In 1982 she met the Love of her life, James (Kenny) Marshall, and they were married shortly thereafter, starting their rich full life together. When she left the Gazette, she went to work for a new housing development, in an administrative
position, and then moved to Lyons equipment company for a spell. Eventually she landed at the University of Nevada as an administrator for the school of medicine, and then the grounds maintenance department, where she stayed until she retired. She stayed in Sparks until 2021, when at that time she started yearning for a simpler more rural life. She moved to Fernley, NV where her beloved husband was laid to rest. She had a very happy life there with her sweet dog, and her great new friends. I guess you could also say she had a lifetime love of horses as well, because one of her favorite things were the wild Mustangs which would wonder around town. She reconnected with her passion for playing pool as well, and joined a league, and started playing tournaments again. She truly loved Nevada, and this was a true "Happy Place" for her.

Linda passed away on January 10th 2026 in her home, surrounded by family and her beloved dog.

Linda is survived, and will be deeply missed by her many loved ones.
