ACTON, ME - Linda Eileen Moody, born December 8, 1952, in Rochester, NH, passed away suddenly and peacefully at her home on November 6, 2025, after a brief illness. She was the sixth of thirteen children born to Theodore and Ruth (Golden) Moody of Milton Mills, NH.Linda grew up in Milton Mills and attended the little red schoolhouse before graduating from Nute High School in 1970. During her school years, she was an active member of the basketball and softball teams. She also worked at Russo's in Milton Mills, where her coworkers became like a second family to her.In 1990, drawn to sunshine and warm weather, Linda moved to St. Croix, where she lived for more than twenty years. It was there that she met her husband, Rick Collette of Rochester, NH.Linda was a kind and giving soul whose gentle presence touched everyone around her. She had an unwavering willingness to help those she loved, often putting her own life on hold to support her children and grandchildren. Whether she was running errands, helping raise little ones, or offering a steady shoulder to lean on, Linda was always there—steadfast, selfless, and full of love. Her generosity of spirit and devotion to her family left a lasting impact on all who knew her.She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers Terry Moody, Mike Moody, and Danny Moody; and her sisters Peggy Richards and Colleen Moody.She leaves behind her loving family, including her daughter Melinda Perez of Colebrook, NH; her sons John H. Long III (Susan) of Cedar Grove, TN, and Jeremy Long of Acton, ME; and her daughter Wendy Sue Ryder of Ossipee, NH. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Christopher Marriott, Caleb Long, Marina Long, Terwayne Jones, Ashton Long, Tyrese Ryder, Marisa Long, Mikey Perez, Tina Perez and Jessenia Perez; as well as her sisters Kathy Twombley, Kim O'Connor, Tammi Rogers, Chris Patch, and Erin Moody; and her brothers Tim Moody and Jamie Moody.Linda will be lovingly remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and countless friends.A celebration of her life will be held in March 2026.In honor of Linda's strength and the way she approached life, her family shares one of her favorite reminders: "Mind over matter
