Linda Ann Nestroy

Linda Ann Nestroy (nee Bernasek), age 77, of Downers Grove, Illinois, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025. She was born March 14, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Raymond and Irene (Porozynski) Bernasek.

Linda devoted her life to her family. As a loving and dedicated mother, she was always active in her children's activities. She later built a meaningful career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Beacon Hill, retiring after many years of dedicated service.

Linda found immense joy in her role as a grandmother to her five treasured grandchildren. She cherished family time, especially holidays and celebrations. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, and maintained a lifelong love for the outdoors. As an animal lover, Linda grew up loving dogs and later developed a special fondness for cats.

Linda will be remembered for her warm heart, deep devotion to family, strong work ethic, and the kindness she showed to everyone around her.
She is survived by her three children: Debra Culbertson, Karen Merlo (Vincent), and Michael Nestroy (Samantha); five grandchildren: Kyle and Cody Stankowicz, Santo and Angelo Merlo, and Abigail Nestroy; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Audrey Thomas; brother, Bruce Bernasek; parents, Raymond and Irene Bernasek.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place, and no services will be held. Immediate family to honor her privately.

Those who loved and knew Linda are encouraged to celebrate her life and memory in a way that feels meaningful to them.
