Linda Marie Olson (née Weinke), age 73, passed away peacefully at home with family on January 17, 2026, in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota. Born on May 3, 1952, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Linda lived a life filled with love, loyalty, and devotion to her family and the simple joys that brought her happiness.
Linda was the beloved wife of Ron Olson and a devoted mother to Nick Weinke (Tammy), Tony Olson, and the late Colin McQuillan. Her heart extended even further as a proud grandmother to Courtney Woehrle (Jeremy), Samantha Appleman (Thomas), Eli Weinke, and the late Max Weinke. She also held cherished bonds with her siblings: Butch Weinke (Sue), Ron Weinke (Betty), Keith Weinke, Karen Walz (Gary), and Joe Weinke (Colleen).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Alvina Weinke; her son Colin McQuillan; grandson Max Weinke; in-laws Bill and Joan Olson; and brother-in-law Mike Olson.
Linda's life was marked by a fierce loyalty and deep love for those around her. She found joy in the everyday moments—whether it was preparing home-cooked meals for family gatherings or baking Christmas cookies that became treasured traditions. Her kitchen was often filled with the comforting aromas of her cooking and the warmth of shared laughter.
An avid reader with an eye for creativity, Linda spent countless hours crafting handmade greeting cards that reflected her thoughtfulness and artistic spirit. She loved playing bingo and cards with friends and family, always bringing energy and enthusiasm to every game. Her green thumb was evident in her well-tended garden, which bloomed under her care just as the lives of those around her did.
Linda had a fondness for Motown music and could often be found humming along to classic tunes while keeping an impeccably clean home. She enjoyed watching American Idol and re-runs of Dog the Bounty Hunter—shows that brought entertainment into her evenings. Traveling to Duluth and along Minnesota's scenic North Shore brought her peace and joy, as did simple pleasures like shopping trips, savoring old-fashioned hard candy, or indulging in White Castle.
Her presence was a source of comfort—a steady hand during difficult times and a joyful companion during celebrations. Linda's legacy is one of unwavering love for her family, dedication to tradition, and an appreciation for life's small but meaningful pleasures.
May Linda's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
