Linda Ratze

Linda Susan Ratze (Edwards), age 76, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, in Madison, Wisconsin. Born on October 8, 1949, in Rockford, Illinois, Linda lived a life filled with love, creativity, and devotion to her family.

Linda was the beloved wife of Larry Ratze, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership. Together they built a family that became the center of her world. She is lovingly survived by her children, Lance (Lisa) Ratze and Laurie (Rodney) Coleman; her grandchildren, Joshua, Alyssa, Kaden, Micah, Sabrina, Rodney Jr., Trivell, Ratavien, Shalayla, and Rylan; and her great-grandchildren, Ziah and Amryn. She also leaves behind her brothers, Russell (Charlotte) Edwards and Howard (Linda) Edwards. Linda's family brought her immense pride and joy throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Yola Edwards, and her brother, Dale Edwards.

Linda was known for her strength of spirit and selflessness. She was the heart of her family, the source of laughter and joy who turned ordinary moments into cherished memories. Whether singing songs, sharing stories, baking in the kitchen, or simply making those around her laugh with her quick wit and humor, Linda had a gift for bringing people together. Her love for holidays and birthdays was unmatched. She delighted in creating magical celebrations for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will be remembered for generations.

A creative soul with an entrepreneurial spirit, Linda found joy in sewing, crafting, and baking. She had an extraordinary ability to make things beautiful while also practical, always with the people she loved in mind. Her faith guided every aspect of her life as she taught life's simple yet profound lessons to her children and grandchildren. She encouraged them to believe in themselves while lifting others up with kindness and resilience.

To those who knew Linda best, she will always be remembered for her contagious laughter that could brighten any room and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched with her warmth and generosity.

A Celebration of Life and luncheon will be held on March 21, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at The Well Church, 3763 Pioneer Rd., Verona, WI 53593. The Well Church shares a building with West Middleton Lutheran Church. Family and friends are welcome to attend as we gather to honor and remember her life.

Linda's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
