Linda "Denni" Denise Ridgely Bolling Hall
Born March 9, 1948 in Fairmont, WV., to George and Betty Ridgely.
She lived in Clarksburg, WV for a brief time where she became a big sister to her brother, Mark Ridgely. She was nicknamed Denni which she is still lovingly referred to today by those close to her. She made fast friends with everyone she met.
Her family settled in Huntington in 1961. Linda attended Vinson High School where she was an enthusiastic contributor to all the things that made her classmates' experience at Vinson meaningful and important. She was a genuine Vinson High School Tiger and never shirked a call for help. Whether it was Future Teachers, Future Nurses, Queen of the Snow Ball Dance, Student Council, Y-Teens, Future Homemakers, Pep Club, Vinsonian staff, Glee Club, etc., she was there to make things better. Linda did all of these extra things, while being an outstanding student, academically.
She was that friend behind the wheel of her dad's car hauling a gang of girls to River Side Summer dances, a movie, or just cruising around commanding the attention that if you know, you know.
Linda graduated high school in 1966, married David Bolling and started a family having two children, Mark and Jill. She was involved with the PTA, her community, and she and David were both Sunday school teachers.
In 1977, she relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area, raised her two children and proceeded to undertake a life of responsible work, receiving continued accolades for her role as Customer Service Supervisor at US Fleet Leasing, Inc., in San Mateo, CA.
During her 20+ years in California, she found love again with Robert "Bob" Hall, the two married and traveled extensively. It was during one of their travels that they fell in love with Lexington, KY and together they decided to take a chance.
In Lexington, she used her customer service skills as she became a formidable collections manager for local hospitals in Central Kentucky. She worked hard and enjoyed it. So much so, that she continued working part time through August, 2025.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Hall, her first husband David Bolling, her mother Betty, and her father George.
She is survived by her cats Betty (16yrs old) and Lily (9yrs old); her son, Mark Bolling; daughter Jill Bolling Segura; grandsons, Tyler Miller and Matthew Segura; her brother, Mark Ridgely; nephew, Allen Ridgely (Phoebe); niece Lisa Ridgely Parkinson (Kerry), step-children, step-grandchildren, and countless friends.
She remembered every birthday, anniversary, and celebrated the birth of anyone's new arrival. She was truly interested in knowing what was going on with her friends and family. She was in regular contact with her people, her lifetime friends, even her first husband. She believed in kindness and peace and loved music, especially oldies and always Freddie Mercury.
Linda was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in February, 2023 and after starting treatment she had a set back with a broken hip at the end of August, 2025. With her body slowly failing her, she decided to stop treatments and made a plan to be comfortable at home with hospice.
Linda did things on her terms and this was no different. She was surrounded with love and those who loved her, including her cats, in her own bed at her home where she peacefully passed away on New Year's Eve, 2025.
Linda wished to be cremated and did not want to have any funeral services.
There will be a memorial of some kind in the Spring or Summer with details to follow in the coming months. She donated to many charities, if you would like to make a donation in her name to Paws For the Cause in Lexington, Little Victories Animal Rescue in Ona, WV, Planned Parenthood, or volunteer your time to help anyone in need.
Remember her sarcasm, her generosity, her tolerance, her love and compassion, and please share any memories to help keep her in our hearts and thoughts every day.
