Linda “Lin” Clair Schweiker, 85, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026. She was born on January 31, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to Edward Jerome Clair and Katherine Lucey Clair, both of whom preceded her in death.
Linda graduated from Holy Cross School of Nursing in 1965 and earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Nursing from St. Louis University in 1968 and 1971, respectively. Her speciality in nursing was medical-surgical nursing, and she later taught at Maryville University. After working as a hospital floor nurse, she transitioned to caring for children as an elementary school nurse until retirement.
Lin was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She married the love of her life, Jerry William Schweiker, in 1970, and they shared 39 wonderful years together before his passing in 2009. She is survived by her two children: her daughter, Sheri Donnelly (John), and her son, Brett Schweiker (Rebecca); and her two beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth “Ellie” and Nicholas Schweiker.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Randall T. Clair (who passed earlier this year), and is survived by her nieces, Kathy Clair-Hayes (Chris), Margaret Noxon (Michael), and Pamela Clair. She cherished time with her family above all else. Her Christian faith sustained her with comfort and purpose throughout her life, and she became a dedicated parishioner of Holy Comforter after moving to Colorado in 2011.
Lin loved many things in life, including golf, cruising in Alaska and the Arctic in search of wildlife - especially polar bears - attending art classes, helping others, and spending time with her cats.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on March 21, 2026, at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church, 1700 W. 10th Ave, Broomfield, CO 80020. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Parkinson’s Foundation or Holy Comforter Episcopal Church.
Lin’s Family is deeply grateful to the nurses and care team at MorningStar Arvada and Bloom Hospice for the care and compassion they provided Lin during her extended time on hospice.
She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
