Linda Williams Martin Trethewey of Summerville departed peacefully to be with Jesus on January 3, 2026. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Tom Trethewey; her son Adam Martin (Dana); her stepdaughters Kristie Zack (Ray) and Megan Trethewey; her grandchildren Matthew Martin, Emma Luckey (Carson), and Kelly Zack; and great grandson James Luckey.
As a South Carolina native, Linda grew up in Rock Hill with her sister Patricia, and brothers Steve and Danny. After graduating from Winthrop University, Linda moved to Virginia where she faithfully served young children as a teacher and a counselor before retiring to Summerville to spend more time with her family. In retirement, Linda was a committed member of Seacoast Church where she enjoyed serving. She also enjoyed gardening with her husband as she vigilantly eliminated weeds from her flower beds (and yours' if she ever came to visit). With Linda, no weed was safe.
Linda took great pride in her children, grandchildren, and great grandson. Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was dearly loved and while she will be missed, her family takes great comfort in knowing her final resting place.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for January 15, 12:00pm, at Seacoast Church in Mt. Pleasant. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in her memory to the Counseling Center at Seacoast at the following link: https://seacoast.onlinegiving.org/donate/form/1466#!/
