Lois Tina Christensen, age 90, passed away on January 7, 2026, in Elkhorn, NE. Born on November 2, 1935 in Warren, PA to John and Tena Bengtson. Her father was a pastor and at the age of 7 she moved with her parents and four sisters to Albert City, IA where she grew up and graduated from high school. She furthered her education at North Park Junior College in Chicago, IL, graduating in 1956.

Lois married Milton Christensen on August 19, 1961 and they were happily married for 59 years. They loved to travel together, serve in Gideons and share life with their church and birthday club friends. Lois was a farm wife and wonderful mom to four daughters, sharing her love of cooking, sewing and playing the piano. She was involved in an extension club called the Gabby Gals who still get together.

Throughout her life, Lois served as a secretary at the Evangelical Covenant Church in both Des Moines, IA, and Omaha, NE, and worked at Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her roles as a sunday school teacher and deacon at First Covenant Church. She also led studies with Bible Study Fellowship and handed out bibles with the Gideons.

Lois lived a life marked by joy, generosity, and a deep faith in Jesus. Everyone who met her will remember her genuine smile and positive outlook on life.
Her love for her family and connecting with people filled her with happiness. She loved spending time with her grands and great grands, puzzling and playing games. Although she was sweet in most everything she did, she was ruthless when playing Wahoo never giving up a chance to send people back to their home. She was a gracious host, often setting the table for guests just in case someone stopped by. She kept her Swedish heritage alive by teaching her kids and grandkids how to make cardamom bread, spritz cookies and meatballs.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents and sisters Deborah and Ruth. Lois is survived by her daughters, Karen (Dan) Latt, Cathy (Larry) Hanson, Susie (Kyle) Lennard, and Debbie (Russ) Graham; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and sisters Mary and Nony.
A service to celebrate Lois' life will be held at City Light West, 3401 Oak View Drive, Omaha, NE, at 10:30 am January 17th with a lunch following.
