Born and raised in St. Paul, she attended Harding High School and worked for the US Civil Service Commission in St Paul and Washington DC and the IRS Enforcement Division before marrying Jim DeLong in 1950. Jim's 3M transfers sent them to Oklahoma, Kansas and California before their return to Minnesota in 1969.
Their home in Lake Elmo became the setting over the next 56 years of countless family dinners and treasured memories all warmed by the light that was Lois.
She took great pride in 20 years spent as a legal secretary for Minnesota Senate Counsel, a dream job she found enriching and fulfilling.
She had a lifelong love of music, was constantly reading and always believed in staying active: swimming, hiking, bowling and golfing into her 90s----an inspiration to all.
She loved her family with all her heart and the feeling was mutual.
She wanted it noted here that she was proud to be a Democrat in these trying, insane times.

A private gathering of immediate family is planned.
Memorials may be sent to donor's choice or St Jude's
