Anna “Lois” Goble, 95, of Lakeland, FL, passed away February 18, 2026. She was born in Ft. Recovery, Ohio. Lois graduated from Miami University of Ohio with both her B.S. and M.Ed. in music, later working as a music teacher and school band leader. Lois met her husband Paul while they were students at M.U., married nearly 63 years prior to his passing in 2020.
Lois was a ray of light in this world. She was a sweet, giving, kindhearted woman, who loved unconditionally and was so loved in return. She was concerned first for others, always willing to be the one to listen, drawing you out with her questions, and with a smile to share. She had a positive spirit and outlook on life, despite macular degeneration and other health issues, and had a sharp mind and memory. She enjoyed entertaining, organizing small lunch parties and get togethers. She truly treasured and nurtured her friendships, new as well as lifelong ones.
She was the mom you were lucky to get, very involved in raising her daughters in a loving environment, serving as a Girl Scout Leader and a Sunday School teacher. Later, she and her husband were devoted caregivers to their daughter Carol during her years battling leukemia.
Lois and her husband enjoyed square dancing, and remaining active in church, first at Painesville United Methodist Church in Ohio, and more recently with the BYKOTA class at First United Methodist Church in Lakeland. They also enjoyed international travel to visit daughter Carol, serving as a missionary-nurse in Bolivia, and to visit daughter Karen and son-in-law Frank in Spain and The Netherlands. Snowbirds for 18 years in Lakeland, they moved to Fl. Presbyterian Homes in 2011.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Paul, daughter Carol Goble and two brothers. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Karen (Frank) Villafana, a niece, nephews, and many friends.
In her memory, the family suggest sharing an extra moment to listen to a friend and give them a hug. A combined celebration of life for Lois and for Paul, who passed during Covid times, will be held at Westminster Lakeland, in the Chapel, Feb. 28 at 10.30am.
