Lois Saunders

1941 - 2026

Lois Elaine Saunders (Haste), age 85, of Spring Hill, Kansas, was born on January 6, 1941, in Appleton City, Missouri, to Dimple Belle Gardner and Simon George Haste. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family who say goodbye to a remarkable woman whose strength and spirit have shaped generations.

Lois lived a life defined by resilience, independence, and a fierce determination to make the best of whatever came her way. Strong, stubborn, and undeniably feisty, she faced life's challenges head-on and taught those around her how to do the same. Her legacy is one of perseverance, of triumphing over adversity and finding a way forward, no matter the circumstances.

She was previously married to Rex Nall (deceased), with whom she spent time in Alaska, a place she loved and often remembered fondly. She was later married to Virgil Saunders (deceased).

Over the years, she made her home in several places, spending many years in Gardner, Kansas, where she worked at Walmart and built lasting connections within her community, before settling in Spring Hill, Kansas.

Lois found joy in simple, meaningful things. She had a remarkable green thumb and could bring life and beauty to any plant she touched. In her later years, she enjoyed playing bingo and expressing her creativity through crafting and pastimes that reflected her playful spirit.

She was the proud mother of five children: Lois Brown, the late Lynn Petty, Lonnie Nall, Virgil David Saunders, and Jodee Jenkins. Her family continued to grow through 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her strength and spirit forward.

More than anything, Lois will be remembered for the lessons she passed down, not just in words, but in the way she lived. She showed her family how to endure, how to stand strong, and how to keep going even when life was difficult. That quiet, unwavering strength will remain her lasting gift.

Services will be held privately with family.
