Lonnetria D. Singleton

Known as Neesie to her family and friends, Lonnetria Denise Singleton was born in May 24, 1958 in Gary, Indiana, and passed away on November 30, 2025, after a brief illness. She lived her entire life in Gary, Indiana. After graduating from Gary Westside High School class of 1976, she completed Cosmetology School and worked as a self-employed hair stylist for nearly five decades. Additionally, she was employed at several Lake County casinos.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David "Lonnie" Clay and Barbara Grundy Bess, her sister, Paula Bess, her beloved grandmother: Dorothy Grundy, and grandfather: Charles Grundy.
Neesie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a cherished friend to many.
She is survived by her loving husband: Wilbert, her children: daughters: Kara Hunter, Kailyn Singleton, sons: Henry "Hank" Crews, Jason Crews, and Aaron Singleton, her brothers: David (Susan) Clay, Clarence (Jannine) Bess, her grandchildren: granddaughters: Tauren, Makena, grandson: Jaron, aunts: Monica (Clinton) Sharp, Christine Clay, Sister-In- Law: Beverly Johnson and Godmother: Ina Harris as well as many other relatives, friends, and loyal clients.
Lonnetria's Celebration of Life Services will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, with a viewing at 9:30 AM followed by the funeral services at 11:00 AM at The Word Church, located at 2075 Rush Place, Lake Station, IN 46405.
Interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Park in Hobart, Indiana.
