Lorena Stoner Plump, known as Lorey by friends and family, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

Lorey was born in Annapolis, Maryland, to Howard F. Stoner, Sr. and Helen Withers Stoner. Growing up in a Navy family, she moved often during childhood and graduated from Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia.

Lorey attended Occidental College in Los Angles, California, and met her husband, Ellsworth Plump, at Long Beach Naval Base. As a Navy wife, Lorey dedicated her life to supporting her husband and the U. S. Navy community. She developed a special love for Japan during her husband's two tours there and spent much of her time volunteering with organizations such as the Navy Officers Wives Club. Later in life, she was a faithful member of North Farnham Episcopal Church on the Northern Neck of Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ellsworth Plump, and her beloved sister, Susan Pitts. She is survived by her brother, Howard F. Stoner, Jr., and her nieces and nephews, Helen Strickler, Thomas Pitts, Donald Plump, Wendy Plump, and Carolyn Plump, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Burial will take place in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Farnham Episcopal Church in Warsaw, VA, or to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.
