Lorene Lawrence Wenning

Lorene Lawrence Wenning ("Lorrie"), age 93, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, in Sparks, NV. Born on October 26, 1932, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, she was the beloved daughter of Margaret Achord Lawrence and Bernard Willis Lawrence.
Lorrie pursued her passion for education at Maryland College for Women and Wheelock College, where she earned her teaching degree.
She married Robert Alban Wenning, Captain, United States Navy, who predeceased her in 2021. Married to an aviator, Lorrie lived in many different places throughout her life and had a gift for making each new stop feel like home. Wherever she landed, she created a warm household and made lasting friendships.
Lorrie was a devoted wife and a proud mother of four children: Sandra White (Richard), Robert Alban Wenning Jr. (Donna), Barbara Sugaski (Greg), and Lisa Devlin (Jim).
She was a cherished grandmother to six grandchildren: Sarah Margaret Lyons (Patrick), Katlin Emily White, Robert Alban Wenning III( Lacy Brackett), Grant Drake Sugaski, Kyle Lawrence Sugaski, and Madeline Hazel Devlin. She was also a loving great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren: Emma and Vivian Lyons, Cierra, Sabrina, Bobby, Samantha, and Rion Wenning.
Lorrie was active in church groups and garden clubs, an excellent seamstress and quilter, and an accomplished painter and pianist. She treasured her summers spent on Cape Cod and was a proud Mayflower Descendant. She was known for her creativity, love of birds, hospitality, and witty sense of humor.
The family wishes to make special mention of Donna Wenning, whose loving care and patience meant so much. Her kindness and presence were a true comfort and gift to both Lorrie and the entire family.
Lorrie was grateful to spend her sunset years with her "crew" at Morningstar, surrounded by care, kindness, and companionship.
In honor of Lorrie's deep love for dogs, the family suggests memorial gifts be made to Kindly Canines Therapy Dogs, 1445 Lake Shore Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
