Loretta Chambers, 66, of Burnsville, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. Born on August 29, 1959, in Gary, Indiana, Loretta lived a life marked by faith, love, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.

A devoted Christian throughout her life, Loretta’s deep spiritual foundation guided her every step. Her love for God was not only evident in her words but also in the way she lived—with compassion, strength, and grace. She shared her faith joyfully and openly, often through song. Gifted with a beautiful singing voice, Loretta found joy and purpose in music. Whether singing alone or alongside others, her voice uplifted those around her and served as a powerful expression of her devotion.

Loretta had a special fondness for elephants—creatures that symbolized the very qualities she embodied: strength, wisdom, and gentleness. These traits were reflected in the way she cared for those around her and in the quiet resilience with which she faced life’s challenges.

She was a blessing to all who knew her a devoted and caring sister, a loving mother and grandmother, and a cherished aunt and cousin. Her warmth extended far beyond immediate family; she was the heart of many gatherings and the light in countless lives.

Loretta is survived by her daughter Alecia Nyana Layla (Blakey) Torres; grandsons Dominick Christopher Padilla, Damian Michael Torres, and Darien Julian Torres; sister Minnie Taylor; brother-in-law Thaddeus Lee; brother Leon Chambers Jr.; sister-in-law Paula Newell; brother Eric Chambers; sister-in-law Terrilynn Chambers; niece Nueyen (Lee) Ford; nephew - in law Johnathan Ford; niece Valencia Taylor; nephew Marlon Taylor; niece Shemika Chambers; nephews Leon Chambers III and Paul Chambers; cousin Rose Williamson; cousins LaShanda (Williamson) Neal and Victoria (Williamson) Robinson.

She was preceded in death by her father Leon Chambers Sr., mother Minnie Lee (Winston) Chambers, sister Bobbie (Chambers) Lee, and brother-in-law General Taylor.

Loretta’s legacy is one of enduring love—a love that will continue to echo through the generations she touched. Her memory will live on in every song sung in joy or sorrow, every act of kindness inspired by her example, and every heart that carries forward the light she so freely gave.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
