Lorie Dobbins 63 passed away into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to live in peace for eternity. She went peacefully with her family by her side.

Lorie was born in Pensacola, Florida on September 8, 1962, the daughter of Joseph and Thelma Byram. She was a loving and devoted daughter, wife and mother. Her father was a Marine and as a child, her family moved often, including Norway around the age of five. After her father's retirement from the military, the family settled in Fairfax, Va. They joined Fairfax Baptist Church when Lorie was 12. She began her 38-year career at age 17, as a GS clerk typist with USAID (US Agency for International Development). Without a college degree, she advanced in the agency, holding many positions and retiring as a GS14. She was a driven member of the agency with a strong work ethic, and integrity. She felt she was making a difference in the World, referring to her work as "saving babies".

She married in 1986 and had her first son Christopher. She remarried to Doug in 1996, and they had their daughter Ashley and son Taylor. She was happily married for 32 years until her death. Her family meant everything to her. She and Doug retired and moved to the country in Lovettsville, Va. where she loved to Garden and be with nature.

Her commitment to Christ and her Church were unwavering. She served many positions in church leadership, loved singing with the choir and was always willing to do whatever was needed.
