Lorraine Lasker (née Rettig), 89, passed away on December 18, 2025, in New York, New York.
Born on October 3, 1936, in New York City, Lorraine spent her life immersed in the vibrant cultural and intellectual energy of the city she proudly called home. She pursued her academic ambitions with determination, earning an MBA from Columbia University—a testament to her intelligence, discipline, and love of learning.
Lorraine built a distinguished career as Assistant Dean at New York Medical College and as a respected leader within the Society of Research Administrators. In these roles, she played an essential part in supporting research initiatives and fostering academic excellence. Her work contributed meaningfully to the advancement of medical education and research.
Intelligent and adventurous, Lorraine was known for her insatiable curiosity about the world. An avid traveler, she embraced new cultures and experiences with enthusiasm, journeying to all seven continents.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Sigmund. Lorraine is survived by her devoted daughter, Johanna, and her son-in-law, Vincent.
