Louelliotte Williams-Buchanan, or affectionally known as "LE", beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 28th, 2026, in Collierville, Tennessee, at the age of 88. Born on October 14, 1937, in Memphis, Tennessee, Louelliotte was a cherished member of her community who dedicated her life to service and family.

She devoted "36 years and 5 months" to the Memphis City Schools Board of Education, where her work positively impacted countless lives. Louelliotte was gifted with remarkable creativity and skill. She found joy in sewing and needlepoint, creating intricate pieces that brought warmth to those she loved. An exceptional cook, she delighted in preparing meals from scratch, and her home was often filled with laughter and the comfort of family gathered around her table.

Known for her quick wit, sharp sense of humor, and unwavering honesty, Louelliotte had a way of saying exactly what she meant—often with a smile that made it impossible not to laugh. Her strength, resilience, and authenticity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Louelliotte was preceded in death by her beloved two children; daughter, Cheryl Ann Buchanan-Hotz; and son, Joseph Aaron Buchanan; her parents, Elliott Williams and Lucille Patrick-Williams, her sister, Loretta Williams-Harris; and her nieces, Carolyn Harris-Head and Rita Harris.

She is survived by her son-in-law, Albert Hotz, treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Allison Hotz, Matthew Hotz, Davielle Hotz and McCoy Hotz; her sister, Janice Williams-Gilliand; her nieces and nephews, Regina Harris, Angie Gilliand-Fjerstad, Jessica Gilliand, and Michael Gilliand; trusted confidant, Sandra Sargent, and many extended relatives.

In the spirit of Louelliotte's life and legacy, her grandchildren hope this moment may serve not only as a time of remembrance, but also as an opportunity for renewed connection. Though many relatives remain unknown to her grandchildren by name, they are known in heart, and there is a genuine desire to strengthen those bonds in the years ahead.

Her life was one of perseverance, devotion, and love. As it is written, "Well done, good and faithful servant...Enter into the joy of your Lord." — Matthew 25:23.

A celebration of Louelliotte's life will be held at New Park Cemetery (Horn Lake) for a graveside service in Memphis, Tennessee, on March 14th at 11am. Visitation will be held at M.J. Edwards Funeral Home (Airways) on March 13th from 4-7pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, reflecting her 39 years of outstanding support and lifelong concern for children and hope for healing.

Louelliotte Buchanan's generous spirit, steadfast love, and unforgettable humor will be deeply missed. May her memory remain a blessing to all who knew her.
