Louise Mae Payovich (née Goldberg), 82, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, in Park City, Montana. Born on November 17, 1943, in Mankato, Minnesota, Louise lived a life filled with creativity, love, and devotion to her family and friends.
Louise was an exceptionally talented and creative individual who expressed her artistry through a variety of mediums. She was an aspiring artist whose works captured the beauty of landscapes, flowers, animals, and abstract designs. Her favorite works were done in plein air styles along side her dear friend, Diane, in Yellowstone Park, along with her other artist friends. Her talents extended beyond painting; she also excelled in felting, ceramics, sewing, and more. One cherished memory from her daughter recalls Louise's resourcefulness and skill when she crafted a stunning dress inspired by the popular Gunny Saks style—an elegant creation that rivaled the original but without the hefty price tag.
Her creativity wasn't limited to art; Louise also had a green thumb and a passion for gardening. Her hard work in the garden often culminated in canning efforts that benefited her loved ones. Among her many culinary creations, she was especially renowned for her salsa—a family and friend favorite that showcased her dedication and care.
Family was at the heart of Louise's life. She is survived by her beloved daughter Brenda (Dana); her brothers Robert (Clarabel), Fred (Cheryl), and Clyde (Margie); as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her husband and soulmate Paul Payovich; her son Paul Allen; her grandson Brandon; and her parents Arlie and Earl Goldberg.
For Brenda, Louise was not only a mother but also a best friend—a source of unwavering support, sound advice, and unconditional love. To all who knew her, Louise was someone who could always be counted on for a helping hand or a warm smile. Her kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to cross paths with her.
Although taken too soon in the eyes of those who loved her most, Louise's family takes comfort in knowing she has been called home by Jesus to be reunited with Paul—the love of her life—as well as their son and grandson. In their heavenly reunion, they imagine Louise dancing joyfully with Paul once again.
Louise's legacy of love, creativity, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind until they are together again. A Graveside Service will be held on June 6, 2026, from 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM at Red Lodge Cemetary 1 South Platt. There will be a celebration of life to follow the graveside service.
