Lucia Ugalde, 91 años, falleció en paz en su hogar en Union City, el 7 de Marzo de 2026.
Lucia, conocida como Isa, nació el 6 de Julio 1934, en Matanzas, Cuba. Hija de Andrés Su y Josefina Morales, fué la mayor de 9 hermanos. Siempre estuvo al tanto de sus hermanos menores y ayudó a todos los que formaron parte de su vida.
Isa fué una mujer dedicada a su esposo Bernardo Ugalde con quien compartió 63 años de matrimonio, construyendo una vida llena de buenos ejemplos. Con esfuerzo lograron sacar a toda la familia desde Cuba a los Estados Unidos, la Tierra de Libertad.
Fué la matriarca de la familia Su-Morales. El amor y la Unión de la familia fueron el centro de su vida. Organizaba celebraciones con el propósito de mantener la unidad en la familia. Siempre estuvo pendiente de sus padres, hermanos y sobrinos a quienes amó como a hijos propios. Con su luz iluminaba a toda la familia.
Con su bondad, compasión y su firme fe en Dios, tocó la vida de muchos. Su amor por Cuba siempre lo mantuvo vivo, apoyando a todo lo que estuviera relacionado con la Patria esclavizada. Amaba a la virgen de la Caridad del Cobre, a quien le oraba con fervor pidiendo por la libertad de Cuba.
Le sobreviven sus hermanos: Andres Su, José Su, Ismael Su y Cuki Sú. Hermanas: Teresa Arrazcaeta, Cristina Su Chiong y Zenaida Seo.
Sobrinas: Barbara Horta y Yipsiam Quintana Sobrinos: Andrew Chiong, Alan Arrazcaeta, Reynaldo Su, Henry Pacheco, Fernando Su, Felix Seo, Jay Seo y Joseph Seo.

Lucia Isa Ugalde, 91, passed away peacefully at her home in Union City, New Jersey, on March 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on July 6, 1934 in Matanzas, Cuba, to Andres Su and Josefina Morales, Lucia, affectionately known as Isa, was the eldest of 9 siblings. From a young age, she embraced the role of devoted sister, helping raise her younger siblings and supporting countless family members and friends who entered their lives.
Isa was a loving and dedicated wife to her husband, Bernardo Ugalde, with whom she shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a beautiful life full of great memories and wonderful examples on how to live. They worked tirelessly to fulfill their dream and were able to bring their family from Cuba to the United States over the years.
She was an extraordinary sister, a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own, and the beloved matriarch of the Su Morales family. Family was her center. Her home, and especially our grandmother's home, was a gathering place filled with warmth, holiday celebrations, and daily dinners that brought everyone together.
Isa's life was defined by her deep love for her family, her unwavering faith in God, and her boundless kindness, compassion, and strength. Her love for Cuba remained a profound part of her identity. She was deeply involved in the Cuban community through various organizations and her devotion to La Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre. She prayed endlessly for a free and prosperous Cuba.
She is survived by her brothers Andres Su, Jose Su, Ismael Su, and Cuki Su; her sisters Cristina Su Chiong, Teresa Arrazcaeta, and Zenaida Seo; her nieces Barbara Horta and Yipsiam Quintana; and her nephews Andrew Chiong, Alan Arrazcaeta, Reynaldo Su, Henry Pacheco, Fernando Su, Felix Seo, Jay Seo, and Joseph Seo.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Morgado Funeral Home, 525 45th St, Union City, NJ 07087.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 530 35th St, Union City, NJ 07087.
