Lucy F. Kozlowski, of Bristol, CT, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 3, 2026, after a brief illness.

Born to the late Angelo and Angelina Interlandi, Lucy was raised in New Britain and attended its public schools. She later attended E.C. Goodwin Technical School, where she earned her certificate in cosmetology.

Lucy married Raymond F. Kozlowski in 1951, and together they began raising their family. Lucy created a warm and welcoming place where family and friends gathered often. Many will fondly remember her Sunday dinners of spaghetti and meatballs, the backyard pool filled with children and laughter, and the open-door hospitality that made everyone feel at home.

Lucy made many dear friends during her years working at New Britain establishments such as BB Dales and Goldsmiths. She was often seen wrapping gifts with care or playfully demonstrating the strength of a Corelle dish by tossing it down the aisle to prove its durability. She also shared her love of music as a choir member at St. Jerome Church.

Later, Lucy worked as an administrative assistant at Central Connecticut State University, where her bright smile and infectious laugh brought joy to colleagues, especially during lunch breaks in the Administration Building.

After retiring and moving to Bristol, Lucy continued to treasure time with her family, attending her children’s and grandchildren’s milestone events. She enjoyed painting ceramics at the senior center and playing bingo with friends at her apartment’s recreation center. Always caring and thoughtful, Lucy would call her loved ones during stormy weather just to be sure they arrived home safely.

Lucy’s greatest love and devotion were reserved for her family, whom she cherished beyond measure.

She leaves behind her daughter Diane and her husband Robert Tanguay; her son Michael and his wife Jan; her daughter Karen and her husband Edward Stavolone; and her son David. She was a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren: Jason, Kristin, Daniel, Lauren, Brian, Courtney, Michael, and Joseph; and a proud great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Dennis Interlandi and his wife MaryEllen, and her niece Alex.

She was predeceased by her brother Joseph and his wife Mary, as well as her daughter-in-law Noreen Kozlowski.

Lucy’s warmth, dedication to family, humor, and wisdom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her longtime caretaker, Gail, as well as the nurses and staff on Floor “F” at Bristol Hospital — especially Joanna, Patrick, and Sophie — for the compassion and care they provided during her final days. Their kindness helped make her passing peaceful, and the family will always be grateful.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on March 21, 2026 at 10 AM; St. Mathew Roman Catholic Church, 120 Church Ave., Bristol, CT
