Lydia Marie Treganza (née Rausch), age 74, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, in Elgin, Illinois.
Born on February 26, 1951, in Franklin, Wisconsin, Lydia lived a life marked by creativity, dedication, and love. From an early age, she demonstrated a deep love for learning graduating as salutatorian from Mukwonago High School. Her journey through education was a testament to her perseverance and passion. While working full-time and raising a family, she earned Associate’s degrees in graphic arts and fine arts from Elgin Community College—fields that reflected her deep love for artistic expression. She later completed her Bachelor of Arts in geography at Northern Illinois University.
Lydia brought her talents and commitment to public service as a city planner for the City of Elgin. Her work helped shape the community she called home, blending her artistic sensibilities with thoughtful urban development.
Art was not just a profession or pastime for Lydia—it was the heartbeat of her life. She found joy and fulfillment in drawing and painting, often surrounding herself with beauty both created and discovered. Her artwork was an extension of who she was: vibrant, thoughtful, and full of life.
Above all else, Lydia cherished her family. She is survived by her devoted husband Glenn; sons Glenn (Emmy) and Daryll; beloved granddaughter Keira; sister Mary Jovanovich; brothers Tom Rausch (Susie), Ronnie Rausch (Karen), Joe Rausch (Mary), Jim Rausch (Donna), Jerry Rausch (Marie), Greg Rausch (Nancy); sister-in-law Linda Rausch; and many nieces and nephews. She held a special place in her heart for her only grandchild Keira, with whom she shared countless treasured moments.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harland and Lucille Rausch; sister Lorelie Egly; brothers Harland Rausch, Bill Rausch, John Rausch and Fred Rausch.
Lydia’s legacy lives on through the art she created and the lives she touched. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
