Lyle William Larcheid, age 97, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026, in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Born on December 30, 1928, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lyle lived a long and fulfilling life marked by dedication to his family and service to his country.
Lyle proudly served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army during the Korean War. His time in the military exemplified his commitment to duty and honor, values that he carried with him throughout his life.
A dedicated family man, Lyle was the devoted husband of 64 years to the late JoAnn (Gresk) Larcheid. He was the loving father of five children: Daniel (Rebecca), William, Mary Kay (Barrington Visen), Thomas, and James (Kara). He was also blessed with his grandchildren Michelle (James) Huntley, Jason (Tanya), Michael, Joseph (Lauren), Samuel, Alyssa, and Max, plus eight great grandchildren who brought so much joy to his life. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Matilda (Ronsman) Larcheid.
Lyle’s legacy is one of love, strength and an incredibly positive outlook on life. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him. Visitation will be held on May 2, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Dominic Catholic Church 18255 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Legion at legion.org/donate or by check to American Legion Charities, PO Box 361626, Indianapolis, IN 46236.
