Lynne Martha Porter (née Groenke), age 74, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025 in Livonia, Michigan.

Born on October 9, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio, Lynne was the daughter of and Fritz and Emgard Groenke. She graduated from Valley Forge High School in the Class of 1969 and went on to earn her degree from Ohio University in 1973. Her early years were marked by a strong sense of purpose and a deep commitment to both family and community—values that would guide her throughout her life.

Lynne built a fulfilling career that reflected her dedication to service and hospitality. She managed the employee cafeteria at The Hyatt Regency in Dearborn, where she brought warmth and care to her work environment. Later, she contributed her talents to TRW Automotive Supply in Farmington Hills, further demonstrating her versatility and work ethic.

Beyond her professional life, Lynne was deeply involved with the First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life and she gave generously of her time and energy to the church community. She ran the nursery for several years, served on the decorating committee, co-directed the youth puppet group, and later managed the Church Thrift Shop alongside her husband. Her presence at the church was one of quiet leadership and heartfelt devotion.

Lynne found great joy in creative pursuits such as sewing and crafting. She had an adventurous spirit that led her to travel extensively around the world, often enjoying cruises that allowed her to explore new places while relaxing with loved ones. These experiences enriched her life and created lasting memories for those who shared them with her.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Ted Porter; sons Brian Porter (Rebecca) and Brandon Porter (Elizabeth); grandchildren Owen Porter, Samantha Porter and Kayla Miller; brother Michael Groenke (Carol); and sister Jayne Aldridge (Dale). Lynne's legacy lives on through each of them.

A woman of grace, kindness, and quiet strength, Lynne touched many lives through both small gestures and steadfast commitments. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
